In 1817, Georg Maximilian de la Raparlier was the Head Postmaster in Löwen, or Leuven, a city then in the Netherlands, but which is now part of Belgium. His son, Joseph Georg de la Raparlier was a Royal Thurn und Taxis Head Post Office Inspector in Frankfurt am Main in Germany, in 1829. He was probably Catholic, as Joseph Georg was a Catholic, and married Catharina Elisabetha Häuser, a Lutheran, in a Catholic Church, the Cathedral of St. Bartholomew in Frankfurt.
